²¹ Jotham ran away from them and went to Beer. He stayed there, because he was afraid of his brother Abimelech.

²² Abimelech ruled over Israel for three years. ²³ Then God sent a bad spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem. The men of Shechem were not faithful to Abimelech.
